The Mg isotopic and elemental composition of cold-water bamboo corals from the South China Sea@en

This dataset consists of Mg isotopic composition and Mg/Ca ratios of three cold-water bamboo corals from the South China Sea. The samples were collected at a water depth below 1000 m where the seawater temperature is around 3 ℃. The analyses of Mg isotope were performed on multi-collector inductively coupled plasma mass spectrometry and the elemental composition was tested on laser ablation inductively coupled plasma mass spectrometry. The dataset is aimed at tracing the Mg isotope fractionation pattern and Mg elemental incorporation into the cold-water bamboo coral skeleton.本数据集涵盖了南海3株冷水竹珊瑚的镁同位素组成与镁钙（Mg/Ca）比值。所有样品采集自水深低于1000米的海域，该处海水温度约为3摄氏度。镁同位素分析采用多接收器电感耦合等离子体质谱法（multi-collector inductively coupled plasma mass spectrometry）完成，元素组成测试则通过激光剥蚀电感耦合等离子体质谱法（laser ablation inductively coupled plasma mass spectrometry）进行。本数据集旨在示踪冷水竹珊瑚骨骼中的镁同位素分馏模式以及镁元素在其骨骼中的掺入过程。
