Eriocheir sinensis Transcriptome or Gene expression

The Chinese mitten crab (Eriocheir sinensis) is one of the most important economic aquaculture species, however it is seriously vulnerable to attack by a variety of diseases. Enrofloxacin is an important drug that is widely used in the treatment of the diseased Eriocheir sinensis. But, the precise cohort of genes and the pathway of drug metabolism involved still remains unclear. Recently, the development of high-throughput RNA sequence (RNA-seq) technology has led to the creation of a powerful and efficient method for transcript analysis and metabolic gene discovery. In the present study, a hepatopancreas cDNA library was constructed from from Eriocheir sinensis which had been challenged by oral gavage with enrofloxacin, and randomly sequenced using the Illumina technique.
