This dataset supports the study titled “Design and Numerical Performance Analysis of a Battery–Free Solar-Powered Phase Change Material System for Postharvest Tomato Preservation.” It contains thermodynamic simulation outputs, transient thermal modeling results, and techno-economic evaluation data for a photovoltaic-driven vapor-compression refrigeration system integrated with phase change material (PCM) storage. The dataset includes COCO-based cycle performance parameters, time-dependent solar–compressor operation profiles, PCM charging–discharging energy balances, and FEATool Multiphysics transient temperature distributions for both PCM and tomato storage domains. Additionally, it provides component-level exergy destruction data, system efficiency metrics, and sensitivity analysis results for key design variables such as PCM mass, ambient temperature, and compressor runtime. Economic data covering system cost breakdown and lifecycle savings compared to battery-based configurations are also included. The dataset enables reproducibility of system performance under solar intermittency and supports further research on battery-free cold storage technologies for agricultural preservation in off-grid environments.
