A yellow-to-lethal mutant, ytl, was selected from M6 generation of ray irradiation treated soybean cultivar. The mutant exhibited reduced chlorophyll content with thylakoid structure disrupted. Observed segregation of the cross between Williams 82 (W82) and ytl indicated that yellow-to-lethal traits were controlled by a single recessive gene. The bulked-segregant analysis (BSA)-Seq method was used to performed preliminary mapping.
