This series consists of a single file, which contains two documents relating to the history of Cessnock Public School: (i) The Advertiser, vol.6 no. 45, 2nd July, 1959, including (pp 5-8) “Centenary Cessnock Public School 1859-1959” Supplement. (ii) Historical notes on Cessnock Public School and district, 10th-19th April, 1970. This consists of (a) a questionnaire distributed by Cessnock Public School (2pp, ts) headed “Cook Bi-Centenary Celebrations – Greater Cessnock – 10th – 19th April, 1970,” seeking information on Aberdare and district, and including a half-page sketch of the history of the school; and (b) “The History of Aberdare” (4pp, ts) compiled from the responses to the questionnaire, and including approximately three-quarters of a page of information on the history of the school.
