Virtual reality (VR) scenarios

Data collected using structured pre- and post-exposure empathy questionnaires administered to participants before and after they experienced three immersive virtual reality (VR) scenarios regarding marine litter: Current Reality, Business-as-Usual Future, and a NETTAG+ Solutions Future, which presented measures to prevent, avoid, and mitigate the environmental impacts of fishing gear and marine litter. The questionnaires assessed changes in participants’ awareness and knowledge of marine litter, perceptions of the public image of fishers, and motivation to take action to address marine litter.
