A direct comparison of cost between commercially sourced data and data from government assets is not possible at this time, confounded by uncertainty in commercial pricing and varying data restriction policies. However, NOAA compared the anticipated cost per occultation from government-sponsored missions and commercial sourced data procured to date and found that commercially sourced data was about one-quarter to onehalf the cost for this delivery order (DO-2).
