This dataset is provided along with the paper "Self-Supervised Deep Metric Learning for ancient papyrus fragments retrieval" (in process of publication) and is mainly targeted towards researchers in computer science specialized in Information retrieval on Historical Documents.
It is built upon the University of Michigan's Papyrology Collection, which provides the images free to use for educational and research purposes under the Creative Commons 4.0 Licence .
