VPRS 14547 Register of Inward Correspondence, Survey Branch I

This series consists of a register of inward correspondence for the Survey Branch of the Department of Crown Lands and Survey (VA 538). Most correspondence was originally registered in either VPRS 70 Register of Inward Correspondence (that for the whole Department) or in VPRS 621 Register of Inward Correspondence, Occupation Branch and then forwarded to the Branch for the appropriate action and response.Details in the register are the local (or Branch) number shown as an annual single number and the Head Office numbers which are those given in the registers in either VPRS 70 or VPRS 621. Other details are the name of the correspondent and the subject matter. Subjects are to do with both survey matters and the administration of the Branch. Details are given of to whom the letter was referred for action or comment and then in the remarks column, a summary of the action taken and / or a summary of the reply to the letter or any minute placed on it.
