The present study investigated the biodegradation kinetics and microbial communities of two TGS-degrading consortia enriched from activated sludge of two WWTPs in Hong Kong. The microbial communities were characterized by metagenomic sequencing combining Illumina and Nanopore sequencing techniques. A hybrid approach was applied to obtain higher quality metagenome-assembled genomes (MAGs). Finally, the abundances of MAGs were further correlated with degradation rates to decipher the potential degraders in the two consortia.
