China (2007): Malaria TRaC Study Evaluating Mosquito Net Use among Rural Populations in Malaria Endemic Areas in Target Counties of Yuxi, Honghe and Xishuangbanna Prefectures, Yunnan Province. First Round.

PSI/China conducted a household survey designed to investigate malaria-related knowledge and attitudes as well as behaviors related to insecticide treated net (ITN) use among people aged 19-55 living in rural, malaria endemic areas in the target counties of Yuxi, Honghe and Xishuangbanna Prefectures, Yunnan Province, China. The purpose of this TRaC survey is to provide evidence for monitoring and implementation of PSI/China's Malaria Prevention Program, specifically: 1) to identify factors associated with use of mosquito nets; 2) to determine levels of and monitor trends in conventional net and ITN use among the rural population living in malaria endemic areas targeted by the program; and 3) to apply study findings to malaria interventions designed to promote the use of long lasting insecticide treated nets (LLITNs).
