Human gut microbiome among vitiligo patients

This study investigates the potential relationship between diet, gut microbiome composition, and disease activity in vitiligo patients. Building on recent discoveries showing that the gut microbiome influences disease activity in mouse vitiligo models, this research seeks to determine whether similar patterns exist in humans. To achieve this, fecal samples from over 100 individuals, both with and without vitiligo, from Illinois, USA, and Kazakhstan were collected and analyzed through sequencing to assess their gut microbiome composition.
