100 Years at Kjøtteinen

Book project about the yard of Aker Solutions (during the project period Kvaerner) at Stord through 100 years (Grove, Knut et al. 2019: 100 years in change. The yard at Stord 1919-2019). The project shed light on a key activity in the Norwegian supplier industry, where four thematic areas provided different inputs. 1. Company, group and strategy. 2. Technology and production. 3. Work organization, work environment and co-determination and 4. Employees, companies and local communities. As a company history, the presentation is also a gateway to an important part of Norwegian industrial history; through the history of the yard as a tanker builder and as a platform builder, all the way to the budding downsizing of the Norwegian oil business and the associated industry and its encounter with the green shift. The presentation is part of the national history writing about Norwegian industry and the transitions from different types of business in one historical period to new activities in the next period.
