Natural infection in Rhodnius robustus infesting Attalea butyracea palms in Colombia

This dataset comprises field sampling data collected from palm trees surveyed for the presence of triatomine insects in El Zulia, Norte de Santander, Colombia. A total of 100 palms were evaluated to assess both triatomine infestation and their natural infection with Trypanosoma cruzi. For each sampled palm, geographic coordinates (latitude and longitude) were recorded. Entomological data include the number of collected individuals classified by developmental stage (nymph instars I–V) and sex (male and female). The dataset also incorporates information on sampling conditions and environmental variables, including temperature and relative humidity, as well as the location of traps within the palm structure.
