VPRS 9824 Correspondence Files (Flinders Unit Patriotic Society)

This series comprises inwards correspondence written by members of the armed forces during the Second World War who were former SEC employees. The correspondence is addressed to the Flinders Unit Patriotic Society, which raised money and collected clothes to send to service personnel. The money raised was sent in the form of canteen orders. Extracts from the correspondence were published in Pals News by the Electricity Supply Staff Association. This magazine was published and distributed at the Flinders Street and Richmond Branch of the SECV. It was funded by subscriptions from civilians. The purpose of the magazine was to keep correspondents on the Home front and in the Armed Forces informed of the activities of the SEC and each other.
