Share of non-bathing coasts due to pollution in Italy 2018, by region

In 2018, the North Italian region of Veneto had the largest share of coasts no longer suitable for bathing. More specifically, the share of polluted beaches was equal to 26.6 percent. Moreover, Sicily recorded 15.9 percent of non-bathing coasts. On average, the share of coasts in Italy not suitable for bathing added up to 9.4 percent of all coasts.
