Objectives: 1. To describe in-river migratory patterns and assess catchability of pre-spawning and postspawning American shad in the York River system, Virginia. 2. To explore the application of a novel method (index-removal estimation) for assessing total abundance of spawning American shad and in-river exploitation rate.
