This dataset is connected to a phd thesis. This PhD thesis is structured around three central pillars: van der Waals (vdW) layered quantum materials, emergent phenomena, and their tunability. Part I of this thesis provides the why, what and how of this work. While the general motivations are discussed in Chapter 1, Chapter 2 briefly describes the classification of materials based on their band structure, the application of topology in condensed matter physics, and the basic theory of electronic correlated phases, such as superconductivity and charge order. Part II and Part III describe the experimental results. In part II (Chapters 4-7) we presented magnetotransport studies on exfoliated ZrSiSe, NbS2 and CeTe3 flakes and performed thickness-dependent studies to tune their electronic, superconducting and magnetic properties and establish thickness as a tuning parameter in unexpectedthickness regimes in these materials. Part III (Chapters 8 and 9) focuses instead on revisiting well-known and legacy materials (also referred to as old friend materials) which recently experienced a renaissance due to new discoveries and/or novel research directions. This is the case for bP and InBi.
