This study explores the role of elemental sulfur in tomato growth, focusing on gene expression dynamics through transcriptome profiling. Using sulfur concentrations of 0.2, 0.4, and 0.8 mg/L, researchers observed significant growth stimulation, with 0.4 mg/L yielding the most consistent results.To analyze the molecular response, RNA sequencing was conducted on plants treated with 0.4 mg/L sulfur. Samples were collected at hourly and daily intervals, revealing the expression of over 18,500 genes. Temporal analysis showed substantial variations in gene activity at early time points, with Principal Component Analysis confirming minimal sampling bias. Sulfur accumulation in tissues was minimal, highlighting its gradual utilization.This research advances transcriptome profiling techniques and provides critical insights into gene expression changes linked to sulfur treatment, supporting optimized sulfur application for enhancing plant growth.
