Council monitors the water quality at 11 sites in the Brisbane River and sections of Moreton Bay, which have high rates of recreational use. Brisbane City Council monitors of enterococci bi\\-monthly in summer and monthly during the cooler winter months. The presence of high levels of enterococci can vary daily, and may be elevated after heavy rainfall.
