This study hypothesized if cognitive function capacity decreases the the risk of falls among older adults at nursing homes would increase.
This is the raw data consists of demographic data of elderlies, data of risk fall score and data of cognitive function at two nursing homes in West Kalimantan province-Indonesia. Subjects were recruited by purposive consecutive sampling. Of the 100 respondents, 60 subjects met the inclusion and exclusion criteria of the study. The sensitivity Mini-Mental State Exam (MMSE) was used to identify the cognitive function and technically assessed the risk of dementia. The Morse Fall Scale (MFS) was established to predict the risk of falls. These tools are valid and reliable. The collected data were analyzed using somers’d test.
