Digital Archive from a Historic Building Recording at the Spanish City Theatre, Whitley Bay, Tyne and Wear, February to March 2024

This collection consists of site records from historic building recording work at the Spanish City Theatre, Whitley Bay, Tyneside. The works were conducted by Adept Building Consultancy Ltd between February and March 2024, prior to redevelopment and alteration to the site into a new leisure, retail, food/drink and entertainment offering. The change of use is the latest phase of redevelopment for the building, having originally been constructed as a theatre, converted to the Empress Ballroom shortly after and then being converted into a bingo hall. The record helps to capture and document the building prior to a further evolutionary stage of development and the conversion to retail/leisure and entertainment space.
