Albany Pine Bush Preserve Soil Metagenome-Assembled Genomes (MAGs)

This dataset contains 94 unique Bacterial and Archaeal metagenome-assembled genomes (MAGs) spanning 27 classes extracted from various fire managed plots within the Albany Pine Bush Preserve. Sample plots were chosen by frequency of fire regimes:“frequent” experienced one scorching fire in the last five years and one in the five years before that (n=3), “infrequent” experienced one within the last 15 years and none in the 15 years prior (n=3), and the control had no fire history since 1991 (n=3). Within these nine plots, four locations were randomly chosen and at each sub-sample location, we extracted two soil depths (0-15 cm and 15-30 cm) (n=18).
