Data for: New Lunar Crater Reveals Extensive Distal Regolith Modification
收藏资源简介:
This directory contains data associated with the publication Powell et al. (2026), titled New Lunar Crater Reveals Extensive Distal Regolith Modification. It includes the following datasets: Diviner temperature data for new lunar craters: Diviner Lunar Radiometer brightness temperature data before and after impact for 21 new craters formed on the Moon during the LRO mission. Data are gridded at 128 pixels-per-degree and interpolated to local midnight. Data for each crater are stored as HDF5 files, containing the following variables: Filename example: ncA_m_post_128ppd.mat. The filename prefix identifies the crater (ncA, ncB, etc.), while "pre" and "post" indicate observations before and after impact, respectively. "ncA" corresponds to McGetchin crater. lon, lat: longitude and latitude [degrees] (2D arrays) tb6, tb7, tb8: channel 6-8 brightness temperature [K], interpolated to local midnight (2D arrays) tbol, treg, ra: Derived bolometric temperature [K], regolith temperature [K], and rock abundance [area fraction], interpolated to local midnight (2D arrays) globalColdSpotCatalog.csv: A partial catalog of lunar cold spots identified in Diviner nighttime temperature maps. Note: this catalog is a work in progress, and its completeness varies by region. It should not be considered complete for the purposes of assessing global statistics or spatial variability. However, it does contain a representative sample of cold spots sufficient for use in this study. Data are stored as a CSV, containing: Crater longitude and latitude [degrees] Crater diameter [m] Cold spot peak bolometric temperature anomaly [K] Peak temperature anomaly corrected for resolution effects [K] Equivalent H-parameter [m] and delta [m]. newCraterColdSpotCatalog.csv: A catalog of new craters >20 m in diameter identified to have formed during the LRO mission. Data are stored as a CSV, containing: Crater longitude and latitude [degrees] Crater diameter [m] Bounds on crater formation date from LRO observations Cold spot peak bolometric temperature anomaly and interquartile range [K] Peak temperature anomaly corrected for resolution effects and interquartile range [K] Equivalent H-parameter [m] and delta [m] and interquartile range.
