Topic: The study aimed to evaluate time saved, patient safety, patient outcomes, allied health professional adherence to national stroke guidelines, cost implications, and stakeholder perceptions when a novel allied health transdisciplinary stroke assessment (the TINSA) was implemented at the Mater Hospital Brisbane acute stroke unit, replacing discipline-specific allied health stroke assessments (occupational therapy, physiotherapy, speech pathology, and social work). Data collection: For the primary outcome, allied health professionals timed their assessments including the time taken to read the medical record, administer the assessments, and document results. For the secondary outcomes, other measures of time, patient safety, patient outcomes, and allied health professional adherence to relevant stroke guidelines were collected via a retrospective medical record audit. Quantitative and qualitative data on patient and staff satisfaction, patient intermediate outcomes (3 months after admission to hospital), interprofessional trust, and staff confidence was collected via surveys, interviews, and Focus Groups. Data included in published dataset: All data is unidentifiable. Data published includes the quantitative data for all primary and secondary outcomes (time, patient safety, patient outcomes, and adherence to stroke guidelines in Excel Spreadsheets); quantitative and qualitative survey results (patient and staff satisfaction, interprofessional trust, and staff confidence in an Excel Spreadsheet); and interview and focus group transcripts (in an Excel Word document). Data dictionaries have been included within each document to assist with interpretation and understanding the data.
