Laos (2005): Barriers and Motivations on VCT among High Risk Groups (FSW, migrant workers and Transgender) In Savannakhet Province

The general objective of this study is to identify barriers and motivations of the SVK VCT center among target respondents: MSM, FSW, and Katoey. Examine level of awareness of VCT sites and services among the target populations among users and non-users of VCT services. Ascertain perceptions and attitudes about quality, accessibility, and confidentiality of VCT services among users and non-users of VCT services. Understand motivational triggers for VCT use among users of sites and services. Study perceived benefits and barriers to utilization of VCT services among target groups of users and non-users of VCT services. Explore perceptions and attitudes about knowing one's HIV serostatus among users of VCT本研究的总体目标为：明确以男男性行为者（Men Who Have Sex with Men, MSM）、女性性工作者（Female Sex Workers, FSW）及Katoey群体为代表的目标受访群体，在接触SVK VCT中心服务时所面临的阻碍与参与动机；考察目标人群（含HIV自愿咨询检测[Voluntary Counseling and Testing, VCT]服务使用者与非使用者）对VCT服务机构及相关服务的认知水平；明确VCT服务使用者与非使用者对VCT服务的质量、可及性及保密性的认知与态度；探究VCT服务机构使用者选择使用VCT服务的动机诱因；分析目标人群（含VCT服务使用者与非使用者）使用VCT服务的感知收益与阻碍因素；探索VCT服务使用者对知晓自身HIV血清学检测结果的认知与态度。
