Pseudosciaena crocea, also known as the large yellow croaker, was an economically important fish species in Chinese coastal regions. It was once one of four major marine fish species in these regions. However, since the 1970s, wild-caught P. crocea fisheries have suffered a severe decline due to overfishing. To enhance production, artificial breeding methods have been developed, and successful artificial breeding techniques have been established in China. Meanwhile, stock enhancement programs have been initiated in Chinese coastal waters to address the decline of wild populations of this species. However, preservation and management of genetic resources, as well as artificial breeding require accurate genetic analysis for yellow croaker. We report the draft genome sequence of a female large yellow croaker using NGS technology，which may contribut to detecting the immunity,cultivation of resilience and genomic breeding ,thereby, could help to improve the technology to culture such fish in captivity for resource management.
