Inupiaq and Gwitch'in Plant Presence in Stories and Legends, 2007-2008

Purpose: This dataset was developed with the intention of gauging the relative presence of plants or types of plants (eg. forbs, shrubs, etc.) within a selection of the stories and legends of the Gwitch'in and Inupiaq peoples. All stories were published, and most originated from actual conversations with Gwitch'in and Inupiaq elders. Literature was also reviewed, including modern fiction, written by modern Gwitch'in and Inupiaq authors.本数据集的构建旨在评估格威奇因人（Gwitch'in）与伊努皮克人（Inupiaq）所选取的部分故事与传说中，植物或植物类群（如非禾本科草本植物（forbs）、灌木（shrubs）等）的相对出现频次与占比情况。所有收录的故事均已公开出版，其中绝大多数源自与格威奇因族和伊努皮克族长者的真实访谈。研究团队同时还审阅了当代格威奇因与伊努皮克作家创作的各类文献，其中涵盖现代小说作品。
