Researching mobility, defined as movements between different areas. Depending on the areas between which a movement is observed one differentiates various types of mobility: 1. movements between different occupations = occupational mobility 2. movements between branches of industry (economic sectors) = sectoral mobility 3. movements between different places of residence = regional mobility. Such mobility can be determined between the generations (intergenerational mobility) or within a generation (intragenerational mobility or career mobility). In the framework of the study on courses of employment the mobility between the generations is only recorded as occupational mobility while with mobility within a generation movements between other areas (branches of industry and regions) are analysed.
