资源简介:
IntroductionThis dataset contains the results and inputs files collected as part of the Chapter 5 in the doctoral thesis of Mr. Konstantinos Zoumpourlos, Dipl.-Ing in Delft University of Technology, 2022-2026.The present dataset is made public to act both as supplementary data for the publications of K. Zoumpourlos and to offer other researchers the ability to use this data in their own work. This data is part of the MENENS project (Methanol als Energiestap Naar Emissieloze Nederlandse Scheepvaart). The project is funded by the Netherlands Enterprise Agency (RVO: Rijksdienst voor Ondernemend Nederland) under the grant number MOB21012.
Purpose of the datasetThe purpose of these simulations is to recreate the spray formation for Engine Combustion Network (ECN) Spray D non-reacting experiment using n-dodecane as a diesel surrogate. The validated diesel injection model is converted for methanol injection accounting for marine dual-fuel engine conditions. The two sprays are compared based on their spray structure, evaporation and cooling effect using the CFD simulation results.
Description of the datasetInput files for the CFD diesel baseline validation, methanol comparison case, and 6 additional case studies (equal energy and ambient temperature studies) conducted in CONVERGE-CFD 3.0.Additional mean-value 0D and 3D spatial data are included for the simulation cases. The validation cases are denoted by the zip file name including the fuel name, the injection pressure and the ambient temperature environment corresponding to each individual simulation case. Inside each directory, the input files (.dat and .in files), 0D results (text format .out files) and 3D results (text format .h5 files) are denoted by their respective directory names.
DependenciesTo open the simulation input files CONVERGE 3.0 is needed. However, for the inspection of the modelling constants, initial & boundary conditions, it is possible to use a text editor to read the inputs. The 0D simulation results can be opened using Excel, Matlab, or other table reading software. Lastly, the 3D output files can be accessed using any CFD post-processing software such as Paraview, Tecplot, etc.
