她暗自思忖："我甚至不知道父母何时去世的，抚养我的是我的舅舅和舅妈。在这里，这对老夫妇待我如同亲生女儿，我应当努力工作，品行端正。我已经给了舅舅和舅妈5便士，现在也赚了不少钱。（看起来她确实赚了不少钱。）我要给舅舅和舅妈各买一条笼基（longyi），再把礼物寄给他们。"她的朋友们正准备回村寨。老夫妇便对她说："别回去了，留下来和我们一起生活吧，我们收你为养女。"她再次陷入沉思，说道："我愿意做你们的女儿，不过我也是舅舅和舅妈的女儿，我早已是他们的女儿，永远都会是。我也会做你们的女儿，我会做你们四位的女儿。所以如果我有错，请教导我、指正我。"

她和老妇人一起去买礼物时，老妇人问道："这些礼物是送给谁的？"女孩说："我的朋友们明天就要回我们的村寨了，您之前告诉我不要回去，所以我不会回去。这些礼物是送给舅舅和舅妈的，我只是想给他们寄些礼物，可以吗？"老妇人说："当然可以，给他们寄礼物吧。"于是女孩托朋友们把礼物带给了舅舅和舅妈。在过去，钱币很值钱，她给他们每人寄了1缅元（kyat）。舅舅和舅妈收到了她寄来的礼物，十分开心，说道："我们还以为她已经把我们忘了呢，我们抚养大的孩子还记着我们，还爱着我们。"他们问朋友们："她现在过得怎么样？好不好？"朋友们说："她过得很好，她现在工作的地方只有那对老夫妇，他们待她如同亲生女儿。她很想念你们二位，因为他们不让她回村寨，所以只能托我们寄来礼物。"朋友们把礼物和钱交给了他们。舅舅和舅妈收到了礼物和她寄来的钱。在过去，1缅元就能买到很多东西，他们说道："她给了我们1缅元，她去那里之前还给了我们5便士，现在又给了我们1缅元，我们已经有不少钱了。"

女孩和老夫妇一起生活，在那里工作。后来她长成了美丽的少女，有不少爱慕她的男子前来提亲。按照习俗，婚姻需要父母出面，但她对自己的父母一无所知，她的养父母（adoptive parents）也对此毫不知情。女孩说道："父亲、母亲，如果有人爱慕我，想要娶我，我会嫁给他。我有四位父母，你们来决定该如何操办吧。"养父母问道："我们该怎么做呢？"她说："我还有抚养我的舅舅和舅妈，我们一起回村寨吧。然后向提亲的男子说明我的情况。"养父母同意了她的提议。他们三人一同前往舅舅和舅妈居住的村寨。舅舅和舅妈热情地接待了他们，也热情地接待了她的养父母，待他们十分周到。当晚，众人一同用餐。养父母向舅舅和舅妈提及了前来提亲的男子，说明了他的情况。舅舅和舅妈听闻后说道："她本无父母，我们又没有孩子，是我们抚养她长大的。如今她和你们一起生活，你们也没有孩子，今天我们就做她的父母吧。我们要按照我们的传统，为她筹备婚前仪式，举办订婚典礼，婚事由我们来负责。"他们四人一同承担起责任，作为她的父母。当男方（groom's family）的达玛（Dama）送来彩礼（bridewealth）时，他们二人并未为自己留存分毫。因为他们年事已高，也没有什么积蓄，便将所有彩礼都用于筹备她的订婚典礼。他们为她精心筹办了订婚仪式，让她在众人面前倍感荣耀。他们同意了这门婚事，让她嫁给了那个男子。

女孩和公婆一同生活时，勤劳肯干，因此公婆十分喜爱她，对她赞誉有加，并为这对新人送上了祝福。新婚夫妇幸福和睦地组建了自己的家庭。故事到此结束。
