The Chuanyue Archive: Archive Level Record of Origin, Scope, and Access Structure
收藏资源简介:
This archive level record introduces the Chuanyue Archive, a native insider emic vernacular multimodal archive created by The Jiepai Archivist. It provides the public OA_V1 archive origin statement for Chuanyue, including the author preface “Guanyu Chuanyue De Yuanqi” (关于穿越的缘起, “On the Origin of Chuanyue”) and a friend’s preface. The main source text is in Chinese, with selected English metadata, author annotations, provenance notes, and access boundary information. The record explains how Chuanyue began in May 2025, when a friend suggested that the author write down the disappearing world of childhood Jiepai so that local memory might have a place to remain. The author then began writing on a rolling basis, gradually recording space, interpersonal norms, household objects, legends, institutions, economic life, history, local belief, funeral customs, language, and everyday social worlds. After more than one hundred pieces, the author realized that Jiepai, a small township of roughly twenty four square kilometers and a local population of a little over twenty thousand, had been roughly reconstructed as a small local civilization unit. The archive level record frames Chuanyue as a growing collection of Chinese source texts, author annotations, photographs, videos, metadata records, provenance notes, and controlled access materials. The Chuanyue Archive is currently in an active publishing phase, with its public structure still expanding through archive level, volume level, series level, and item level records. It includes the Jiepai Jianghu volume, which focuses on Jiepai, Danyang, Jiangsu, and also includes materials related to Nanjing Chenfu, a related body of work developed through a similar method of local reconstruction and memory documentation. The author has prepared approximately three hundred written pieces and thousands of related photographs and hundreds of videos, with metadata prepared for texts, images, videos, provenance, confidence levels, narrative sources, writing background, and cultural concepts. This record should be understood as an archive level framing record, not as a single item level source and not as a synthetic monograph. Its purpose is to clarify the origin, scope, authorship, public contact, access boundary, and internal structure of the Chuanyue Archive while the archive continues to develop. It may be relevant to digital humanities, digital archives, digital cultural heritage, community memory, oral history, local memory, vernacular culture, rural China studies, China studies, annotated Chinese source documentation, multimodal archives, and research data repository contexts. The record has DOI: 10.5281/zenodo.21141881. The Jiepai Jianghu volume level record is part of this archive and has DOI: 10.5281/zenodo.21140445. Future records may link additional volumes, series, item level records, controlled access materials, and private master materials to this archive level record as the public structure of Chuanyue develops. This public OA_V1 release includes the archive origin text, author preface, friend’s preface, contextual metadata, README, Standalone Abstract, and main PDF. It does not include private photographs, private videos, precise location maps, raw provenance materials, private notes, unreleased supporting materials, controlled access materials, future restricted access files, or materials retained in the Author Private Master Archive. Authorship and upload roles are separate. The Archive Author, The Jiepai Archivist, is the creator, archive owner, rights holder, and public contact person. Any uploader, depositor, or curatorial assistant provides deposit and formatting assistance only and is not the author, creator, archive owner, rights holder, or public contact for this archive.
