IMOS SOOP-XBT Upper Ocean Thermal Data collected on the line IX12 (Fremantle-Red Sea)

Temperature data from the TOGA/WOCE transect IX12 from Fremantle to the Red Sea has been collected since 1983 and are ongoing. The transect is repeated approximately 12-15 times a year with profiles obtained approximately every 50-100 Km.
The data are obtained from XBTs (expendable bathythermographs) deployed vie marchant vessels, and are managed by the Joint Australian Facility for Ocean Observing Systems (JAFOOS), a collaborative venture between CSIRO Marine Research and the Bureau of Meteorology Research Centre (BMRC).

自1983年起，科研团队已持续收集从弗里曼特尔至红海的TOGA/WOCE断面IX12的海洋温度数据，该数据采集工作目前仍在进行中。该断面每年约重复开展12至15次巡航调查，每隔50至100公里即可获取一组温度剖面数据。
此类数据通过商船部署的XBT（投弃式温深仪，expendable bathythermographs）采集，由澳大利亚海洋观测系统联合设施（Joint Australian Facility for Ocean Observing Systems，JAFOOS）负责管理；该设施是澳大利亚联邦科学与工业研究组织（Commonwealth Scientific and Industrial Research Organisation，CSIRO）海洋研究部与澳大利亚气象局研究中心（Bureau of Meteorology Research Centre，BMRC）的合作共建项目。
