Praxis Charters - Cohorts 1-13

This upload provides data used in a textual analysis for a book project under review by Brandon Walsh. It contains two datasets, each in two different data formats, for a total of of four files:

* praxis charter cohort 14.csv
* praxis charter cohort 14.xlsx
* praxis student charters cohorts 1-13.csv
* praxis student charters cohorts 1-13.xlsx

The datasets consist of student charters written by the Praxis Program at the University of Virginia Library's Scholars' Lab from 2011-2025. In accordance with the book project's analysis, 13 years of charters are collected in one dataset while the last charter is broken out into its own dataset for its unique characteristics. Each row in the files contains three columns: cohort name, date, raw text of the charter.

The .CSV files are provided for general usage. The .XLSX formats are provided specifically because this is the format used for ingestion by Voyant Tools, the tool used to analyze the data in the book project. Readers interested in recreating the specific analyses from the text should use Voyant and the .XLSX files. Readers looking to do their own, more advanced analysis might find the .CSV formats useful.
