资源简介:
This is a replication dataset for the submitted manuscript title: \"Maintenance of high temporal Plasmodium falciparum genetic diversity in Kilifi, Kenya, despite a reduction in community malaria transmission from 2007 to 2018.\" The project describes the genetic diversity and complexity of asymptomatic Plasmodium falciparum infections in Kilifi from 2007 - 2018. It also describes the genetic diversity and COI of follow-up febrile malaria infections and reports that asymptomatic infections have a high genetic diversity despite a reduction in malaria transmission in the region. Blood samples and corresponding metadata were collected from children aged (0-15) years with asymptomatic and follow-up febrile malaria episodes. The samples were genotyped using capillary electrophresis based on the merozoite surface protein 2 (msp2) gene. Metadata from each participant included age and parasitemia (based on microscopy results). The genotypes data include the fragment sizes (labelled as genotypes) corresponding to each successfully identified clone based on capillary electrophoresis. The number of genotypes per participants constitute the complexity of infections otherwise known as COI.
