Dataset for: Prove of concept study for in-depth hotspot-level ABD / varietal diversity timeline comparison: dataset varietal sampling

A sampling of the varietal content of each potato plot was carried out in 27 communities of the province of Paucartambo - Cusco. The sampling was in the warehouse. Where a sample of 100 tubers was randomly selected. Afterward, the varieties were separated and a count was made for each variety, registering the full names of the varieties. Finally, the tubers that were removed for the sampling of the varietal content of the plot, were returned to their owners. To determine the conservation status of cultivars we used two indices : (i) relative cultivar frequency (RCF), (ii) overall cultivar frequency (OCF). The RCF index is used to gauge the relative abundance or frequency (or rarity) of a variety and the OCF index is a measure of evenness.
