This whole genome shotgun (WGS) sequencing project provides 1x coverage of >D. simulans strain MD106TS. This line is derived from flies collected in Madagascar by Bill Ballard. It was inbred by sib-pair mating for five generations by Bill Ballard at Univ. of Iowa, and an additional five generations at UC-Davis. The D. simulans genome was sequenced and assembled by the Genome Sequencing Center at the Washington University School of Medicine. The whole genome shotgun (WGS) project has the project accession AASS00000000.
