Gene coexpression network analysis of oil biosynthesis in an interspecific backcross of oil palm. oil palm mesocarp

All plant materials were derived either from pure Elaeis guineensis, pure Elaeis oleifera or from an interspecific backcross. Total RNA was extracted from 2 g of developing mesocarp tissue. The 59 libraries were constructed using the TruSeq Stranded mRNA Sample preparation kit (Illumina), validated using the Agilent DNA 1000 chip kit and quantified using SYBR-based Quantitative PCR (Kapa), then sequenced on a Illumina HiSeq 2000 (paired-end reads, 100 cycles) at the MGX platform (Montpellier Genomix, France). A total of 1.41 billion reads were generated (with an average of 24 million reads per library)
