This series comprises of log books that recorded details on the arrival and departure of vessels at Victorian ports. The series documented the movement of vessels withing the ports.Entries were recorded in the Log Book chronologically and comprise some or all of the following details:- date and time of arrival- vessel name- river or dock- in or out- pilot's name- wind- weather- tide gauge- additional remarks, typically the recording of shift changeover.It appears these records were maintained by harbour masters.
