A-IPA Replication Materials: Synthetic Structural Respondent Probe Materials for the Verify-or-Avoid Paradox Study

This archive supports the manuscript: Shin, K. S., Yang, J., Min, Y., Kang, I. S., and Lee, M. (2026). Verify-or-Avoid: Accountability Concentration in AI-Mediated Senior Leadership: An Augmented IPA Study of Lived Accountability and Document-Grounded AI Reasoning. Manuscript under review. These replication materials provide the full materials needed to reproduce the synthetic structural respondent probe arm of the Augmented Interpretative Phenomenological Analysis (A-IPA) methodology developed in the manuscript. The probe consists of 2,400 substitute respondent responses across a factorial design: 200 stratified scenarios (each one-to-one anchored to one of five leader personas at 40 scenarios per persona) x 4 framework conditions x 3 substrate families = 2,400 substrate responses. The package supports independent replication, extension to additional substrate families (particularly substrate families decoupled from reward-aligned mean-convergence as specified in Empirical Test Condition 7 of the manuscript), and re-analysis under alternative stance rubrics. Version 1.1. The research payload is byte-identical to version 1.0: persona documents, scenario corpus, framework prompts, stance rubric, runner scripts, the 2,400 substrate responses, the first-pass and second-pass coding outputs, and the statistical analysis are unchanged. Version 1.1 revises only the descriptive front matter (README and CITATION.cff) so that the linked-manuscript reference, the author affiliation, and the description of persona provenance match the manuscript as submitted. Version 1.0 remains available as a separate versioned record and is not overwritten. The persona documents are researcher-authored instruments anchored to the five published participant profiles at the level of industry, role, organisational scale, approximate tenure band, accountability structure, and decision archetype only. Names, organisations, locations, education histories, and narrative details are fictional. They are not participant records. Interview transcripts and diary records of the phenomenological core are not included in this archive. Scope of this version. This record publishes the A-IPA comparator replication package. The file-complete revision package described in the manuscript's Data Availability Statement contains, in addition to the materials published here, the revision-era analysis scripts, the identity-minimised independent human-rating record with its frozen overlap statistics and retained disagreements, and the mapping from the anonymised substrate identifiers to the named configurations reported in Supplementary Table H3. That package is now published as version 1.2 at 10.5281/zenodo.21995973, with one file withheld until article publication (a snapshot of the manuscript Findings section). Prior version history is not overwritten.
