Sea ice thickness datasets from airborne measurements 2007-2017
收藏资源简介:
This dataset contains airborne electromagnetic induction (AEM) measurements of total Arctic sea ice thickness collected during helicopter and fixed-wing aircraft campaigns between 2007 and 2017. The EM-Bird sensor was towed beneath aircraft to derive the distance to the sea-ice/seawater interface from the EM response, while a laser altimeter provided the snow/air interface. The difference yields total (ice + snow) thickness. The campaigns cover Arctic regions including the Beaufort Sea, Chukchi Sea, Lincoln Sea, and Fram Strait. Each NetCDF file contains along-track airborne electromagnetic (AEM) measurements of sea ice thickness collected with the EM-Bird sensor for an individual flight. The following main variables are included: YEAR, MONTH, DAY — calendar date of observation LATITUDE, LONGITUDE — geographic position of measurement (WGS84) THICKNESS — total ice + snow thickness (m)
