Projection of fluvial flood-induced damages on NUTS1-level GDP per capita for the ACCREU project

This repository contains the data and code for the projection of fluvial flood-induced damages on NUTS1-level GDP per capita for the Task 2.5 of the Horizon Europe Project ACCREU. The main output of this work are the projected Discounted Annual Damages (DADs) per year and NUTS1 region, defined as the discounted difference between the GDP per capita of the baseline (GDP per capita trajectory with fluvial flood perturbations of a preindustrial-control climate) and the GDP per capita trajectroy with RCP-specific fluvial flood perturbations. The calculated values can be found in dad_relative_to_picontrol_WaterGAP2-2e_hanze_ssp_nuts1_10lags_logg_logg_dad_picontrol.csv Each row corresponds to one region-year combination. Each column represents the DAD of one combination of climate forcing, SSP-RCP scenario and discounting choice. As an example, column 'dad_gfdl-esm4_ssp270_nordhaus_dice' documents the calculated DAD values for the climate forcing GFDL-ESM4, SSP2-RCP7.0 and discounting choice Nordhaus DICE. The DAD values were calculated using the script calculate_dad.py .
