Soil accretion at 10 GCE marsh sampling sites from December 2001 to May 2011

The accretion of soil was measured in tidal marshes at 10 GCE-LTER sampling sites from December 2001 to May 2005. Feldspar marker layers were deposited in 0.25m by 0.25m quadrats in the marsh plain at each site in December 2001, then replicate soil cores were removed at approximately 6 month intervals to measure accretion above the marker layer. This study is part of the GCE sediment monitoring program, and was conducted to evaluate the effects of freshwater input on soil accretion.本研究于2001年12月至2005年5月期间，在10个GCE-LTER采样点位的潮汐沼泽中开展了土壤加积（soil accretion）量的测定工作。2001年12月，研究人员于各点位沼泽平原的0.25米×0.25米样方内布设长石标记层；随后以约6个月为间隔采集重复土壤柱样，以测定标记层上方的土壤加积量。本研究隶属于GCE沉积物监测计划，旨在评估淡水输入对土壤加积过程的影响。
