EFGO:High-Resolution Eddy Model Fusion Gradient Optimal Interpolation Data Introduction: The dataset was primarily constructed using the research team's pioneering work, including 3D temperature-salinity reconstruction model for mesoscale eddies and a gradient-dependent, scale-optimal interpolation objective analysis method. It achieves a horizontal spatial resolution of 1/16°and a temporal resolution of "day." The dataset overcomes key technical challenges in reconstructing and integrating 3D temperature and salinity by combining mesoscale eddy physical process model with data-driven machine learning. By fully leveraging historical observational data and incorporating unified mesoscale eddy dynamic constraints into the temperature and salinity structure, it enables seamless integration of multi-source data. The dataset represents the first high resolution product that integrates temperature and salinity data while incorporating ocean eddy characteristics. The EFGO dataset was developed and maintained jointly by Shanghai Ocean University (SHOU), National University of Defense Technology (NUDT), and China Argo Real-time Data Center (CARDC). This dataset is available for free download. All users should credit it as "EFGO" and cite it in the standard academic format. Dataset Overview: 1. Time period: January 1, 2024 to June 30, 2025 2. Fusion variable: temp (Sea water temperature), terr (Sea water temperature error), salt (Sea water salinity), serr (Sea water salinity error), u (Sea water east-west density current velocity), v (Sea water south-north density current velocity), SCD (Surface sound depth), MLD (Mixed layer depth), TBD (Bottom depth of thermocline),TTG (Thermocline temperature gradien) 7. Storage size: 28.15 GB For more details on additional variables and dataset construction, please refer to File Manual of EFGO.docx. The files within this record: 1. EFGO_202401-202412.zip and EFGO_202501-202506.zip: Dataset files. They comprise 547 daily data files in NC format. Each file is named in the format EFGO_YYYYMMDD.nc, with yy, mm, and dd denoting the year, month, and day, respectively. See File Manual of EFGO.docx for full dataset details. 2. Manual of EFGO.docx: This file provides a detailed description of the dataset construction process and the specific variables included. 3. EFGO Data Reading and Plotting.zip: Data reading and brief plotting file. In the compressed file, file read_and_plot.m uses MATLAB to read the variables and generate plots, using January 9, 2024, as an example. Folder snctools and Folder m_map contain the source code for the data reading and plotting helper tools, respectively.
