PM10 emissions from electric utilities in the U.S. 2000-2023

Fossil combustion from electric utilities in the United States produced 124,000 tons of particulate matter PM10 emissions in 2023. Annual PM10 emissions from U.S. electric utilities have fallen nearly 80 percent since 2005. PM10 pollutants are defined as particulate matter of 10 micrometers or less in diameter.
