Prank as motive for cyber crime in India 2022, by leading state

In 2022, the state of Uttar Pradesh in India had the highest number of cyber crimes committed with the intent of mischief with approximately 58 cases registered with the authorities. The country recorded more than 173 such cases of cyber crimes with mischievous intent that year. These crimes came under the purview of numerous sections of the Indian Penal Code under Information Technology Act (Cyber crimes).
