Clamping nut (10) for fixing a disc-shaped tool to a rotatable tool spindle of a driven machine tool with a run-out brake， comprising a nut body (20) with an internal thread for screwing onto the tool spindle， a locking ring (30) which can be moved relative to the nut body (20) and which is captive connected to the nut body (20) and non-rotatably connected to the tool spindle， and an elastic spring unit (40)， which is arranged in a variable in its axial extent space between the nut body (20) and the locking ring (30) and can be deformed as a result of an axial force acting in the direction of the longitudinal axis (12) of the tool spindle， characterized in that the variable space in its maximum axial extent is greater than the elastic spring unit (40) accommodated therein in its maximum axial extent when fully relaxed.
