Dataset for article “Polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons in the Murchison meteorite record evidence for interstellar progenitors and protosolar disk chemistry”

The dataset consists of machine-readable RAW files (the primary data product of the Q Exactive mass spectrometer), FT STATISTIC input (‘reference’) files used in the Fast Fourier Transform conversion of RAW files to human-readable files via the Thermo Fisher Scientific FT STATISTIC software, and the FT STATISTIC-converted and exported TXT files, which can be opened in Excel, MATLAB, or any other program capable of ingesting TXT files. RAW files can be opened to view the analyses’ chromatograms and mass spectra using the Thermo program Xcalibur, available with any Thermo Fisher Scientific mass spectrometer. Isotopologue data can also be extracted from RAW files using the Thermo Fisher Scientific software IsoX, which was specifically designed for use with Orbitrap RAW files. A freeware, web-based version of IsoX (IsoXL) is available in demo form at https://isoorbi.isoverse.org/articles/isoxl_demo.html. Note that we do not maintain the IsoXL code, nor have we tested its functionalities with this dataset.
