This dataset systematically investigates the effects of varying Cr/N ratios on nitrogen retention behavior, solidification microstructures, and room-temperature tensile performance of high-nitrogen stainless steels fabricated by laser powder bed fusion (LPBF). The dataset includes the chemical compositions of three pre-alloyed powders with different Cr/N ratios, LPBF processing parameters (e.g., laser power and scanning speed), corresponding phase analyses, microscopic images of melt-pool morphologies and microstructures, as well as detailed tensile stress–strain curves and fracture morphologies. The results demonstrate that a designed Cr/N ratio of ~23.3 enables the best synergy between nitrogen-based solid-solution strengthening and ductility, providing quantitative guidance for composition design of high-performance additively manufactured high-nitrogen steels.
