The objective of this study is to evaluate the clonality, resistance and bacterial persistence using different methodologies, such as new generation sequencing, MLST and PFGE in K. pneumoniae isolates involved in hospital outbreak at Hospital Dante pazzanese, Brazil. In addition the study intends to use these methodologies to characterize the genome of the isolates of K. pneumoniae involved in hospital outbreaks and to evaluate genetic determinants related to the persistence of a predominant clonal pattern and its relationships with other standards over five years, during which the outbreak lasted.
